How long will my Chapter 13 Bankruptcy case take, and what’s required of me?

We can get the process started very quickly and start protecting you right away regarding many of your debts, including foreclosure of your home. Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases generally take 3 to 5 years to complete, depending on the kind of debt you have as well as the amount. Your role in the process will be to make monthly Chapter 13 Trustee payments on-time during that time and to promptly provide our office with information and documents that have been requested from the Court.  You will also likely only need to attend one administrative hearing that is currently being held remotely. The hearing are typically short and relatively informal (as compared to most Court proceeding), and we’ll be there with you to hold your hand and make sure it all goes smoothly.
